Stakeholders urged ITF to build the capacity of states government on IGR, Public presentation

Stakeholders have urged Industrial Training Fund (ITF) to build the capacity of state government on Internally Generated Revenue IGR and Public presentation among state to increase revenue base of the states.

Malam Idris Lere, Director with the Bauchi state Internal Revenue Board a stakeholder made the call at the stakeholders interactive session organized by the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) in Bauchi on Thursday

He said the state government needs a capacity and techniques on how to generate revenue in the states.

Mr Lere said ITF had done much on skills acquisition to the teeming youth and students in the country.

“Therefore we are calling on the Management of ITF to diversify on revue improvement in the states,

“The state government should collaborate with Industrial Trust Fund to build capacity of workers on how to generate revenue for their states,” he said

He also lamented that most of the workers in the government can not present themselves in a public gathering, ITF should also trained civil servants on how to make a presentation in a public gathering.

Also speaking, Alhaji Nasiru Pantami Director with the Gombe state Transport Company also harps on the presentation in a public place by workers is always poor.

He said there is need for ITF to intervene in the aspect of revenue generation and Public presentation across the country.

Pantami said it’s when revenue is buoyant in the states that the citizens would acquire skills and developed economically.

On his part Dr. Bala Abubakar with Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi pointed out that no nation would record meaningful development without developing it’s human capital resources.

“You cannot develop human resources without putting in place an equitable quality and functional education system.

Speaking on the theme; human capital development a catalyst for suitable economic development, “In recent times however, the development of human capital has been the area of concern towards the development of our nation’s.

“This is for the simple fact that the growth of tangible capital stock of a nation depends to a considerable extent on human capital development,” he said

Earlier, The zonal Director North East, as well as the Deputy Director Servicom ITF Malam Sulaiman Ningi pledged to present the Stakeholders ideas to the Management of ITF for onward consideration.

He said the essence of ITF was to promote and encourage the acquisition of skills in industry or commerce.

“With a view to generating a pool of indigenous trained manpower sufficient to meet the needs of the economy in the country,” He said
