Gov. Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state, has declared Monday, Dec. 31, as public vacation within the state to allow residents provide particular prayer for the repose of the soul of former President, Shehu Shagari.

That is contained in a press release by Tambuwal’s Director Normal, Media and Public Affairs, Malam Abubakar Shekara, and issued to newsmen on Saturday in Sokoto.

Tambuwal mentioned that the declaration adopted session with the Sultanate Council.

“The state authorities subsequently, requests Imams throughout Sokoto and most of the people to dedicate the day for particular prayers for the repose of the soul of the previous President and for peace and progress of the nation at giant.
