Semi Ajayi scored his 7th league goal on Saturday in Rotherham’s 1-2 defeat at home to Championship leaders Norwich, in what has become his best goals return since turning pro.
Ajayi, who is a Charlton Athletic academy product, has now produced 8 goals in all competitions this season, two more than he managed in the 2017/18 season – his previous best.
His latest coming on Saturday at the New York Stadium when the Millers hosted Norwich.
The Nigeria international and former Arsenal man’s 52nd minute strike came between both of Norwich’s goals in the defeat that now sees them sucked into the relegation battle.
Meanwhile it was also his sixth in five games and Rotherham Manager Paul Warne admits his 6ft 4 in midfielder “is on flames right now”.
He has made 38 league appearances this season and scored 7 goals, his 8th goal coming in the EFL Cup.
