She will be honored next month for her ‘bravery and strength’ at the 26th Annual Race To Erase MS Gala which was founded by multimillionaire and MS sufferer Nancy Davis.

And on Thursday, Selma Blair demonstrated some of those characteristics as she ran some errands in Los Angeles using a cane as a walking aid.

The actress, 46, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in August last year and went public with the news in October.

Difficulty walking is the more obvious sign of her condition.

But Blair has shared other effects she is dealing with as a result of having the disease that affects the central nervous system and for which there is no cure.

Earlier in the week, the Cruel Intentions star explained via her Instagram that she is losing her eye lashes.

Alongside a close-up photo of herself with some flowers. she wrote: ‘My right eyelashes all fell out except 3 corner ones. Happened in end of August. Haven’t regrown!’

She added: ‘just started falling out in left eye so there goes my profile posing.’

And on Thursday morning, she shared that she is also suffering from memory loss, a common condition among MS sufferers who often face a number of cognitive changes.

Later in the day, she posted a video clip to her Instagram in which she revealed that one of her errands included a stop for a massage.

In the clip, she is seen having wood therapy, in which her thighs and buttocks receive a deep tissue massage using a sculpted wooden implement.

‘I #knead this every day,’ she wrote in the caption. ‘My butt hasn’t worked in 8 months. Time to get woke!!!!!’

Blair, who has a seven-year-old son Arthur, has spoken candidly about how ‘relieved’ she was when doctors finally diagnosed her with MS after experiencing years of pain.

‘I cried, I had tears. They weren’t tears of panic. They were tears of knowing I now had to give in to a body that had loss of control,’ she said during an appearance on Good Morning America earlier this year.

‘And there was some relief in that,’ she went on. ‘Cause ever since my son was born, I was in an MS flare-up and didn’t know and I was giving it everything to seem normal.’

Blair also admitted: ‘I was self-medicating when [Arthur] wasn’t with me. I was drinking. I was in pain…..And I was really struggling with how am I going to get by in life.’
