Next star to Real

Chelsea coach Maurizio Sarri considers a transfer fee of around 100 million pounds for Eden Hazard (28, Photo) to Real Madrid a bargain for the Spanish club. “£100m is too cheap. In this market it’s too cheap,” said the Coach on Monday night after the 2:0 win over West Ham United. The Belgian, who scored both goals, is close to transferring to Madrid, according to Spanish media reports.

Chelsea are said to have demanded a transfer fee of around £100m from Madrid for the 28-year-old. Hazard, whose contract only runs until June 2020, would be the 8th player to break the 100-million euro mark on his transfer – however, he would be the first for whom such a sum would be paid with just one year left on his contract. When asked if they could replace Hazard Sarri said: “We have seen in the last market window every price I think. So I think it is really very hard to change Hazard with another player.” For €64m, the “Blues” already secured the services of BVB pro Christian Pulisic (20) for the 2019/20 season.

The London club does not want to hand over its star at all, the Coach assured. However, the Italian also told “Sky Sports”: “I cannot do anything [to keep him], because the club agrees with me, but if Eden wants to make another experience, it is very difficult to keep him, I think.” The coach continued that, “I think I have to respect his decision.” Real already picked up a Belgian star from Chelsea last summer who did not want to renew his contract: Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois (26) moved to the Spanish capital for “only” € 35m.

Most recently, Spanish sports paper “Marca” reported that the two clubs and Hazard were close to an agreement on the transfer. Upon Coach Zinedine Zidane’s return to office, a strong case is being made for a signing from the Belgian: The World knows he greatly appreciates the Left-winger, stated Zidane.
