The Kwara state chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) has appreciated Governor AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq for restoring the payment of elected vice chairmen, councillors, Council Secretary and supervisors of the 16 local government councils in the state.
The association stated this in a statement signed by Hon. Joshua Omokanye and Hon. Abubakar Abdullahi Bata, Chairman and Secretary respectively.
The association expressed happiness over the governor’s show of magnanimity in all respect on the matters.
“We are indeed happy over the governor’s kindness and expression of concern over the plights of our vice chairmen, councillors, Council Sectary and Supervisors which culminated in the restoration of the payment of their salaries,” the statement reads.
The body also assured the governor of constant and consistent support in all ramifications in his policies and programmes.
The association also gave kudos to the state chief executive for the proactive measures taken so far in tackling the COVID-19 pandemic even as it urged the citizens to comply with directives of the state government towards combating the spread of corona virus in the state.
