According to Marca, Mane has been aware of interest from the Spanish giants since the summer.

The interest in the 26-year-old has grown amid his current run of form and following his record of 53 goals and 21 assists in 111 matches for Liverpool.

Even so, Real would struggle to prise Mane away from Liverpool.

Sportsmail understands Jurgen Klopp has no intention of letting one of his most important players leave Anfield any time soon.

There are also no clauses in Mane’s contract which would present Real with an opportunity to buy him without Liverpool wanting to sell him.

Mane is currently away with Senegal over the international break and featured as they beat Madagascar. He is likely to play on Tuesday when they take on Mali.

Liverpool and Mane will take on Tottenham at Anfield on Sunday in their first game after the break.
