The physique of Alhaji Shehu Shagari, Nigeria’s Second Republic President has left the Nationwide Hospital Abuja for Sokoto.

The previous chief who had acquired an avalanche of tributes from political foes and buddies will probably be buried at the moment in Shagari village in Sokoto state.

He died on Friday on the hospital on the age of 93.

Among the many late tributes at the moment was that of Governor Mohammed Badaru of Jigawa, who mentioned Shagari’s selfless service to the nation was distinctive.

Badaru, who spoke to the Information Company of Nigeria (NAN) by his Particular Assistant, Media and Publicity, Alhaji Bello Zaki, mentioned the nation has missed an elder statesman.

“ He served this nation as a classroom instructor, a legislator, a minister and on the exalted place of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“ Other than this uncommon feat, Shagari served the normal establishment because the Turakin Sokoto, Ochiebuzo of Ogbaland, the Ezediale of Aboucha and the Baba Korede of Ado Ekiti,” the governor mentioned.

Badaru commiserated with the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’advert Abubakar, President Mohammadu Buhari, the fast household of the deceased and all Nigerians.

Shagari was the President of Nigeria from 1979 to 1983 below the defunct Nationwide Get together of Nigeria.
