Proceedings continued at the presidential and election petition tribunal with the independent National Electoral Commission requesting the tribunal to strike out the application filed by the peoples Democratic Party challenging the outcome of the February 23 presidential election.

Counsel to the electoral body, Yunus Usman while supporting his prayers faulted the opposition party for not including vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, as a co-winner in the election, which he stated should not be taken lightly as whatever affects the winner of the election also affect his running mate.

The tribunal however agreed to entertain interlocutory applications before the main matter, after listening to counsel to President Muhammadu Buhari, Wole Olanipekun, who quoted various sections of the law to persuade the court.
