The North East Zone of The Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria has called on Economic and Financial Commission and Independent Corrupt Practice and other related crimes Commission (ICPC) to investigate National Secretariat of the Association.
The North East Zonal Chairman of the Association, Abdullahi B Mohammed made the call at the end of the Zonal Executive council meeting in Bauchi on Tuesday.
According to him, the North East Zonal Chairman is calling on EFCC and ICPC to investigate the account of the National Secretariat in the last 10 years, according to him, there was corruption and financial mismanagement within the period.
Mohammmed emphasized the need for transparency and accountability in the management of the Association’s resources.
The Zonal Chairman who was responding to the alleged mismanagement of sixty million naira by the national body, said the Association’s resources should be managed according to the law.
Mohammed reaffirmed their unflinching support to the current officials of the Association due to their adherence to the Constitution of the Association in addition to dedication and commitment to service.
Also speaking, the Deputy National President of the Association in charge of Planning and Logistics, called on the members in the zone to be law abiding pending the outcome of the National Industrial Court ruling over the leadership crisis.
