A deepening political crisis in Nicaragua has prompted President Daniel Ortega to crack down on his critics.

He has expelled international monitors who had been documenting his government’s alleged crimes that have killed more than 300 protesters since April. That’s pushing Nicaraguans to find alternative forms of protest – such as art.

Al Jazeera’s Manuel Rapalo meets one such artist from the capital, Managua, who has since had his studio raided by members of the national police.
