The win sees Chelsea open up a five-point gap over fifth-placed Arsenal going into the New Year and keeps Chelsea in fourth in the Premier League table.
Chelsea will host Southampton in their next game on Wednesday while Palace, on the other hand, are just four points above the relegation zone ahead of their trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers on the same day.
