NFF pays Rohr four times my salary – Oliseh

Former Super Eagles skipper, Sunday Oliseh has taken a swipe at the Nigeria Football Federation NFF for paying coach Gernot Rohr four times the salary the football body paid to him or the late Stephen Keshi while occupying the position.

The former Juventus midfielder is also displeased that while the NFF usually held on to the stipends of Nigerian coaches, Rohr’s wages have often been paid as at when due.

The German tactician has been in charge of the Super Eagles since 2016, but the Nigerian legend believes the former Gabon coach has been working under better conditions than any local coach ever enjoyed despite the fact that he has not won any trophy for Nigeria like the team under late Stephen Keshi.

“I’ve never heard Gernot Rohr complain about wages.

“Keshi, while he was coaching, was always complaining, when I was coaching for four months, I was unpaid. For six months, my assistants were unpaid, so I had to leave the job; we were also being frustrated.”

The former Juventus of Italy midfielder was in charge of the team between 2015 and 2016 before he tendered his resignation letter due to unresolved issues between himself and Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Though the position of the Super Eagles head coach is not vacant but rumour has been on that present coach of the team Gernot Rohr might not sign extension with the team.

Oliseh revealed his position via his Instagram handle, that he has lost interest in handling the team due to unhealthy atmosphere around the team.
