Nadine Coyle EXCLUSIVE: Pop star predicts that if Victoria Beckham changes her mind about Spice Girls reunion the band will say ‘no thanks’

Andrew Bullock For Mailonline

Former-Girls Aloud star Nadine Coyle believes the Spice Girls might say ‘thanks, but no thanks’ to Victoria Beckham if she ever changed her mind about joining them for their 2019 tour.

One-fifth of the group that were often hailed as the next Spice Girls in their day, Nadine admitted in a recent chat with MailOnline that she is excitement about the iconic group’s decision to reform this year – but that it’s a shame Victoria Beckham is sitting this one out.

Nadine – who, herself, reformed with Girls Aloud in 2012/2013 to mark the band’s ten year anniversary – said: ‘I’m sure a lot of people were disappointed about Victoria not joining the reunion. And I’m sure Victoria is surprised at how well it’s sold too.

‘But, you know, there’s still time. She might come back and join them. But actually, they might not let her now that they’ve sold out the shows without her.’

She added, jokingly: ‘They might be like, “no you’re okay thanks, here’s a ticket for you and the Beckham clan”.’

When asked whether Nadine – who has never been shy about her fondness for her girl group days – would take over from Victoria if ever the idea was floated, the 33-year-old said: ‘No. But I will absolutely be going to see it. At least once!’

She also revealed: ‘The band they’re using – they’re actually the same band I used for Insatiable.’

Nadine launched solo material following Girls Aloud’s split, with the aforementioned Insatiable being the name of her debut solo album and it’s title single.

She returned the following year with Sweetest High and then relaunched her solo efforts last year with track Go To Work.

She also revealed to MailOnline that she has new music coming in 2019.

‘I am bringing out more stuff this year,’ she revealed. ‘Last year I brought out an EP. But even though I have been doing it a long time, I am relatively new as a solo act. So it’s about finding my feet.

‘It’s also about how far you can push yourself with the singing and dancing. It’s about what you’re comfortable with, what you’re good at.’

While Girls Aloud’s track-record with solo success has had it’s ups and downs, with some members of the group seemingly quitting music altogether, all five Spice Girls released solo material.

And while Victoria Beckham has, these days, ditched music for fashion, she released one official solo album, recorded two further ones (which were eventually shelved) and released four top 10 singles.
