Mikel, Nwaekeme Help Trabzonspor Reach Playoffs

Former Super Eagles captain,  John Mikel Obi, played as a substitute as Trabzonspor beat Sparta Prague 2-1 at the Medical Stadium to seal a place in the play-off round  of the UEFA Europa League,  reports Completesports. com.

Trabzonspor booked their passage into the next round 4-3 on aggregate.

Mikel took the place of Alexander Sarloth 11 minutes from time.

Anthony Nwaekeme was in action for 90 minutes in the game.

At the Dynama Stadium,  Minsk,  Ola Aina was in action in Torino’s  1-1 away draw against  FC Shakhtyor Soligarsk of Belarus.

Aina took the place of Cristian Ansaldi in the 62nd minute of the encounter.

Torino progressed  to the next round 6-1 on aggregate.

New Super Eagles invitee,  Joe Aribo was an unused substitute in  Scottish side, Glasgow  Rangers 3-1 home win against FC Midjylland.

Midjylland paraded Nigerian midfielder Frank Onyeka for 90 minutes in the game.

Nigeria forward, Brown Ideye failed to rescue his Greek club,  Aris from elimination from the competition.

Aris won 3-1 on the night but lost out 4-3 on aggregate.
