Market Values Ligue 1: Rabiot Devalued due to Reserve Status – Mendy Biggest Winner

125 Updates

To put an end to the interim updates of the top five leagues, Transfermarkt has revised 125 market values from the French Ligue 1 – in doing so, several values from the league champions Paris Saint-Germain have been revised. Despite their unfortunate exit from the Champions League, PSG’s squad value increased by a total of 17.5 million euros, which can be explained, by upgrades for players such as Marco Verratti (26, + 5 to 75 million euros) or Julian Draxler (25, + 5 to 35 million).

Several young players, who have been used increasingly by Coach Thomas Tuchel, also posted gains in the current update. The same applies to winter signing Leandro Paredes (24), whose value was increased to 40 million euros due to the transfer fee which was paid to Zenit St. Petersburg.

On the other hand, one of the big losers from this update is Adrien Rabiot (photo). The 25-year-old has be tangled up in contract negotiations, and has been made a reserve by the club bosses. His last assignment dates back to December 11, and he is very unlikely to be used again this season. As the ranks of the interested clubs recently reduced – Barcelona and Bayern Munich are said to have reduced their interest – so has his market value: from 50 to 35 million euros.

While Rabiot has to accept the biggest devaluation of the update, the biggest winner, Ferland Mendy of Olympique Lyon, went from 18 to 30 million euros. The 23-year-old left-back is seen as a preferred candidate for FC Barcelona. Also speaking with top clubs, especially from England, is Tanguy Ndombélé another player from Lyon. The 22-year-old, who is now also an integral part of the national team, has been upgraded to 50 million euros – an increase of 5 million.

Market value winners can also be found at the surprisingly second placed LOSC Lille, where Thiago Mendes (26, + 4 to 22 million) and Rafael Leão (19, + 6 to 12 million) were among those upgraded. Meanwhile, winger Allan Saint-Maximin of OGC Nice, who is linked with BVB, rose from 20 to 25 million euros.
