Liechtenstein CT Helgi Koldvisson has described facing Italy an ‘honour’ ahead of Tuesday’s Euro 2020 qualifier between the two nations.

Liechtenstein have gone five years without a win in qualifying, and Kolvidsson hopes to see ‘hearts beating a little faster’ when his minnows take on Italy.

“The main objective in this qualifying group is to pick up some points, it doesn’t matter if we score or not,” he said at a Press conference.

“There are some interesting young players in our squad and there has been a clear generational change.

“It’s an honour for us to face such a winning team as the Azzurri. If an occasion like this doesn’t get the heart beating a little faster, facing off against the four-times World Cup winners, then what could?

“I too am a fan of Italy to a degree. I consider them among the top 10 sides in the world, whereas our ambition is to get into the top 100.

“I must confess, I support Parma and have been here five times, most recently when the club was in Serie C. I’ve been a Parma fan for ages.”
