Contrasting to the daring icy blue look she sported at the Golden Globes last month, the 32-year-old singer opted for a classic Hollywood theme at last night’s Oscars, sporting youthful-looking, glowing skin and a simple eye-makeup look.
Sarah Nicole Tanno, who has worked alongside Gaga since her Paparazzi days in 2009, said on Instagram: ‘We didn’t want anything to distract from this special moment.’
Stunning! Lady Gaga’s makeup artist has revealed the products she used to paint the star’s face for the 91st Annual Academy Awards in Hollywood, which took place on Sunday
Chic! Her classic Hollywood makeup look was created by makeup artist Sarah Nicole Tanno who used a number of Marc Jacobs Beauty products on the star’s face
The makeup artist used a variety of Marc Jacobs Beauty products to paint Gaga’s face for the anticipated awards ceremony.
Pop of color! The Fineliner Ultra-Skinny Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner ($25) in shade Steel(etto) was also used on the eyelid
Sarah, who worked with the pop star in A Star Is Born, first applied a layer of the Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer ($44) to ensure makeup would last throughout the duration of the night.
Then, to create a flawless, youthful-looking complexion, the artist applied a small amount of the Shameless Youthful-Look 24-H Foundation ($46) in the center of the face to even out her skintone.
Sarah revealed that by using the primer first, she didn’t need to use much foundation on the skin.
She explained: ‘Using this first helps me to use less coverage.
‘She has a beautiful natural tan that I didn’t want to cover to much.’
She then used the brand’s new Accomplice Concealer & Touch-Up Stick ($32) in shades medium 33 and 36, which is set to launch in April.
To set the face products and prevent flashback from photography, Sarah applied a dusting of the new Accomplice Instant Blurring Beauty Powder ($32) in shade Muse.
Lady Gaga’s eye makeup appeared minimal, with the exception of what looked like some silver glitter liner.
To create the classic look, Sarah used the Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eye shadow Palette ($49.50) in the shade Steel(etto).
Sarah said: ‘I used the neutral shades to shape the eye gently.’
Preparation: Assuming that Gaga was in for an emotional evening, her makeup artist cleverly applied a slick of Velvet Lash Primer ($26) and the Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara ($26)
Shock! Gaga seemed shocked when it was announced that Shallow had won the award for Best Original Song, as she sobbed on her way to accept the award
Emotional: As the 32-year-old star accepted the award for Best Original Song at the awards she gave an emotional speech, during which she cried
Thrilled: The star was seen sobbing at various points after it was announced that the hit song from A Star Is Born had won the Oscar
Tears of joy: After the star broke down while accepting the Oscar, impressively, her eye shadow and mascara seemed to stay firmly in place
She then added a swipe of the Fineliner Ultra-Skinny Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner ($25) in an icy silver shade called shade Steel(etto).
And it can’t go unnoticed that, despite Gaga’s tears that ran down her cheeks as she accepted the Oscar for Best Original Song, her eye makeup seemed to remain perfectly in place.
Neutral: The gorgeous makeup look was completed with the Le Marc Lip Crème Lipstick ($30) in the shade Slow Burn
For Gaga’s lips, which appeared plump and neutral at the awards, Sarah had used the Le Marc Lip Crème Lipstick ($30) in the shade Slow Burn.
The artist said that she ‘just tapped it into the lips so you can still see the lips natural texture’.
Meanwhile, Gaga’s hair was styled in somewhat of an Audrey Hepburn-inspired up-do.
The style was created by her hairstylist Frederic Aspiras.
Frederic prepared the hair by washing it using Joico Defy Damage Protective Shampoo ($34.50).
He then applied the Joico Defy Damage Protective Masque for 5 minutes
Next, he applied a few drops of the Joico Blonde Life Brilliant Glow Brightening Oil ($22.99), before sectioning off the hair and blow-drying it with the GHD Air hair dryer ($199).
Frederic then used GHD’s Curve Soft curl iron ($199) to create a few soft waves in the hair. To set the curls in place, he added a spritz of the Joico Hair Shake Finishing Texturizing Spray ($18.99).
Beauty: Gaga’s hair was styled by hairstylist Frederic Aspiras, who created an Audrey Hepburn-inspired up-do that featured soft curls styled into a bun at the crown of her head
Special moment: Lady Gaga sang alongside her A Star Is Born co-star Bradley Cooper (right) as the pair sang the hit song Shallow during the Academy Awards at Dolby Theater, Hollywood
To create the actual up-do, Frederic tied one large ponytail at the crown of Gaga’s head, and another smaller ponytail at the back of her head, before backcombing the hair into a wavy bun.
Winner! Gaga (pictured at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party) was delighted to have accepted the Oscar for Best Original Song for A Star Is Born’s hit song Shallow
He redefined some of the curls he created earlier using the GHD Curve Classic wave wand ($199), and used his fingers to create volume around the top of the head.
Frederic finished off the look with Joico JoiShape Shaping & Finishing Spray ($16.99).
The 91st Annual Academy Awards took place at Dolby Theatre on February 24, in Hollywood, California.
Lady Gaga certainly pulled out all the stops when it came to her Oscars look.
And with all the attention on the 32-year-old and her A Star Is Born co-star Bradley Cooper, 44, it’s no wonder she wanted to look her best.
The duo performed a passionate rendition of the movie’s hit song Shallow, which won the Oscar for Best Original Song at the awards.
As Gaga accepted the award, she gave a tearful speech, during which she paid tribute to Bradley.
She said: ‘Bradley, there is not a single person on the planet that could have sang this song with me but you.
‘Thank you for believing in us,’ she added. ‘Thank you so much.’
