There are two big decisions yet to be made for the Juventus starting XI against Ajax, including Paulo Dybala and Rodrigo Bentancur in a 4-3-3 formation.
The first leg of the Champions League quarter-final kicks off in Amsterdam on Wednesday at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT).
Giorgio Chiellini and Emre Can are ruled out by injury, while Andrea Barzagli and Douglas Costa are not fit enough to start.
Max Allegri already confirmed several picks in his Press conference, for example that Daniele Rugani will play at centre-back with Leonardo Bonucci and Cristiano Ronaldo will be in the starting XI after his injury on international duty.
He also hinted it would be a 4-3-3 formation, or even 4-4-2, because “there are only three centre-backs available, so I doubt I’d use all of them.”
Joao Cancelo and Alex Sandro should get the nod rather than Mattia De Sciglio and Leonardo Spinazzola, as Juve want to attack the more open Ajax defence.
The Coach said either Sami Khedira or Bentancur would start in midfield, leaving the other roles to Miralem Pjanic and Blaise Matuidi.
Sky Sport Italia point to Khedira, but he is returning from injury and just played 70 minutes against Milan on Saturday, stepping in for Emre Can.
Allegri’s comments in the Press conference hinted that Uruguay international Bentancur could be the pick.
“Bentancur is more dynamic, but lacks experience. As there will be many one-to-one duels tomorrow, Bentancur can certainly do well in those situations.”
Cristiano Ronaldo starts, most likely with Mario Mandzukic rather than on-form teenager Moise Kean, who can come off the bench and shake things up later.
Having said that, Allegri did not mention either centre-forward in his Press conference or Sky Sport Italia interview, so could be ready to pull a surprise with Kean.
It’s Dybala or Bernardeschi to complete the trident attack, and while reports are favouring the Italian, Allegri mentioned twice that Dybala had trained very well this morning.
