Acting chairman of the Delta State FA and member of the Tunisia ’94 Super Eagles winning team, Edema Fuludu has called on the technical crew led by Gernot Rohr to try and add few home based players in order to grow the league.
“I think the coach should do his best, I know we have scouts everywhere and the bulk of the team is in Europe but I strongly believe he must bring in some of the home based players in order to improve our league”.
“It will surely help our local league to grow and the players will be surely encouraged. All that needs to be done is to get players who are playing regularly and mix them up with experience”, he concluded.
Nigeria will battle Seychelles in a dead rubber AFCON qualifier and Egypt in an international friendly, and Fuludu believes home based players should be included in these matches.
The opening ceremony and first match would take place in the 74 000 capacity Cairo International Stadium which was renovated before Egypt hosted the 2006 edition.
The North African country has experience in mass tourism, has a multitude of hotels, two international airports, in Cairo and near Alexandria, and a road network linking the main cities.
