After separation from Raiola

According to multiple media reports, at the clubs request, six players are due to leave Manchester United in the summer (to the News). That the “Red Devils” could also lose a star striker hasn’t been reported. At the very least, this has been hinted at in statements by Federico Pastorello. The Italian has been the new agent to Romelu Lukaku (Photo) since December, who before then had been represented by Mino Raiola. “At the moment he is very focused on finishing the season. The competition for third and fourth place in England is very tight so let’s see what will happen in the future at the end the season,” said the Italian to “Sky Sports UK.”

The agent continued, “It’s his second season here and he will still have three years on his contract until the end. Let’s see. He’s someone who loves to know a different culture, a different football. He sees a way to have a career playing in different countries because he would like to win some trophies and prove himself and say to his children ‘I won there and I won there and I won there’ and ‘I was a very good player in all the top championships’ so let’s see, the future is really very open but, at the moment, we don’t discuss about that because really the season is in a big moment.”

Lukaku played in 28 league matches for Manchester in the current Season, scoring 12 goals. Under new Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the Belgium International had initially mostly been used as a substitute. However, in the past seven games in the Premier League, the 25-Year-old, who joined from Everton for just under € 85m in the summer of 2017, has been in the starting XI six times.

Adviser Pastorello has heard nothing about his client’s problems with the Norwegian coach, but rather his client is happy with Solskjaer’s work. Still, he fuels rumors: “He likes Italy. When he was a child he followed a lot the Italian league (…) Teams like Real Madrid and Barcelona of course attract any champion so he sees also in LaLiga one day. Bundesliga for sure is a very good championship.”

While a Bundesliga transfer seems rather unlikely given Lukaku’s potential price, Pastorello could be aiming towards Inter Milan with his insinuations. The agent and the Series A side are said to have a very close relationship. Also the future of Mauro Icardi (26) is considered to be open, just as Pastorello says is Lukaku’s.
