Super Eagles and Plateau United shot-stopper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa has revealed that he is not looking to worry himself over being the number one shot-stopper for the Eagles, as his focus remains to do his best when called on by coach Gernot Rohr.
Ezenwa, who was invited for the Eagles doubleheader against Seychelles in the AFCON and Egypt in an international friendly, did not feature in the match against Seychelles but was brought on in the match against Egypt.
Before the start of the second half against Egypt, Nigerian coach, replaced goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi with Ikechukwu Ezenwa, as Ezenwa made two brilliant saves in the added time of the game to deny the Egyptian dangerman, Abdelmegid Islam.
Speaking with www.brila.net, Ezenwa says he is focused on always giving his best for Nigeria, as that remains he target and objective.
“I will always give my best whenever I am called upon to man the post, and that is one thing I owe myself that anytime I am called upon and I have to give my best”
“The coach has a decision to make, but I must confess, he is a wonderful man, he called me to man the post and I did my best and ensured everything ended well”
“That is what I promised myself and my beloved country Nigeria that whenever I am being called upon, I will always try to do my best for my country”.
