Game of Thrones fans find five of six hidden Iron Thrones after HBO holds worldwide treasure hunt

Game Of Thrones fans are counting down the days to the final season of the iconic HBO show.

And in the run up to the premiere they have been on the hunt for six real-life Iron Thrones, with only one left to be found.

The thrones were hidden across the world by HBO in a promotional campaign – and five have now been uncovered by avid fans of the show, who were rewarded with a golden crown.

Found it! Among those to discover a throne were Alex Bowring and Tom Maullin-Sapey from Oxford, England, who followed the clues to the ancient Puzzlewood woodland in the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire, said to have inspired J. R. R. Tolkein's Lord of the Rings

Delighted fans have been posting footage of their discoveries to social media, with the treasure hunt leading to thrones in Sweden, Spain, Brazil, England, and Canada.

The first was uncovered by Alex Bowring and Tom Maullin-Sapey from Oxford, England, who followed the clues to the ancient Puzzlewood woodland in the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire, said to have inspired J. R. R. Tolkein’s Lord of the Rings.
