A joke involving vegetables has been voted the best gag at this year’s Edinburgh Festival.

The prize went to Swedish surrealist Olaf Falafel for his one liner: “I keep randomly shouting out ‘Broccoli’ and ‘Cauliflower’ – I think I might have florets.”

It was picked by 41% of the 2,000 members of the public who voted on a list compiled by comedy critics. You can vote for your favourite here:
