A media consultant, Alhaji Abdullahi Lawal Dass, has described as malicious and petty the call by a nongovernmental organisation, Huriwa, that said the minister of state for FCT, Dr Ramatu Tijanni Aliyu should be arrested because of fumigation exercise conducted in one of the markets in Abuja.
Dass said the NGO by the call has gone beyond the role of a watchdog t=by asking for her arrest.
The NGO had said because of the crowd that was with her at the event, she had breached the law of lockdown imposed by the government in which she is a part.
Dass said he was at a loss as to the intent of the NGO when it is a common expectation that she was not expected to be there alone.
He said the crowd the NGO complained about were medical and health workers from the ministry, journalists and officers of the market association.
He said these are normal people that ought to grace the event going by the video of the event.
Dass who was the minister’s personal media consultant when she was the woman leader of the ruling party, said the minister had not breached any law.
He said the minister ought to be commended for staking her health and serving the nation.
Dass said from the tone of the statement issued by the NGO, it was clear that it was a hatchet job to tarnish the reputation and good work of the minister of state.
