Nigeria’s Flying Eagles are expected to fly out to Germany on Saturday to begin final preparations ahead of the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland, Completesports.com reports.
Head coach of the team Paul Aigbogun, Completesports.com learnt, is also expected to release the names of players that will be part of the training camp on Saturday.
The players and their officials, all things being equal, will travel to Germany aboard Luthfansa Airline on Saturday night.
Captain of the side, Ikouwen Udoh, as well as Valentine Ozornwafor, Igor Ogbu, Adamu Alhassan, Yahaya Nazifi and a host of other regulars are expected to be named in the squad.
The Flying Eagles who finished fourth at the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Niger early this year will face the USA, Ukraine and Qatar in Group D of the competition.
Paul Aigbogun’s men will begin their campaign against Qatar on May 24 at the Stadion Miejski w Tychach, Tychy.
The West Africans twice finished second at the 1989 and 2005 editions hosted by Saudi Arabia and Netherlands respectively.
The biennial competition will be staged in six Polish cities; Lodz, Bielsko-Biala, Bydgoszcz, Gdynia, Lublin and Tychy from 23 May to 15 June 2019.
