Chelsea came under fire form their own fans after asking on social media which players they wanted to sign – despite the club being handed a two-year transfer ban by FIFA.

In a tweet that has since been deleted, the club shared a link to  the latest transfer gossip related to the club.

Some fans used the tweet to suggest that keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga – who ignored Maurizio Sarri’s decision to substitute him in Sunday’s Carabao Cup final – had now also taken charge of transfer policy.

He said: ‘Kepa’s probably already decided’.

Russian side Zenit St Petersburg even waded in on the tweet, commenting: ‘#Topbants’.

Chelsea have been given a two transfer window ban for breaching the rules around the transfer of minors but will appeal the decision.

The investigation was started over the circumstances surrounding the arrival of former player Bertrand Traore.
