Jadon Sancho will still be at Borussia Dortmund next season despite interest in the forward from across Europe, according to the club’s sporting director Michael Zorc.

The 18-year-old has starred for the Bundesliga side this season, amassing seven goals and 10 assists to help them top the table heading into the new year.

His reputation has soared following his £8million move from Manchester City in the summer of 2017, with clubs across Europe keeping tabs on the winger.

But Zorc insists he will be staying at Dortmund, telling ESPN: ‘He’s an outstanding talent and a big part of our future.

‘We are convinced that we are the best option for him to keep developing. He’s not finished yet. Not by a long stretch.

‘And he will certainly play with us next year, come what may.’

Sancho has been rewarded for his fine form with three England caps and a new deal at the Bundesliga club.

The 18-year-old put pen to paper on a new contract back in October and has himself played down suggestions he is looking to move.

‘I just want to play football and I’m getting that opportunity here,’ he said last week. ‘I’m happy right now.

‘(The language barrier) worried me quite a lot, but when I came and everyone started speaking English I got more comfortable,’ Sancho admitted. ‘My German isn’t the best but I’m learning, I have to learn.

‘I’ve adapted really well. Obviously when I first came it was a bit difficult because I’m not around the corner from my house.’
