142 Updates

Transfermarkt.co.uk has updated the market values of 142 players in England’s 2nd division. Among the biggest winners from this update are young English professionals loaned to teams in the Championship from top Premier League clubs: Chelsea duo Tammy Abraham (21, photo) and Mason Mount (20).

Aston Villa are already the third Championship club which Abraham has been loaned to since 2017, but in the current season he is showing that he is ripe for the Premier League. In 28 games he scored 20 goals – Newcastle United wanted to bring in the U21 international in the winter, but Chelsea decided against it. In this update Abraham’s value increase from 10 to 15 million euros. The leading goal scorer – with three more goals than Abraham – is former Schalke player Teemu Pukki (28) who currently plays for Norwich City. The Finnish international has been upgraded from 2.5 to 4 million euros.

Third in the group of top winners from players on loan is Liverpool’s Harry Wilson (21), who also plays for Derby. In the 2017/18 season the winger already played in the Championship for Hull City – in 2018/19 season he continues in the same league. His market value boosted from € 3m to € 8m. There was also an increase of €5m for Brentford FC’s Neal Maupay (22). The Frenchman, who joined from AS St.-Étienne for € 2m in 2017, made a big leap in performance this season and is among the league’s top goal scorers – new market value: € 10m.

Arguably the biggest rising star among Championship teenagers is Max Aarons (19) of league leading Norwich (to the table). Since last summer, the right-back has held a regular place in the squad. In 29 games Aarons was directly involved in seven goals. His market value rose from 250,000 to 5 million euros.
