According to information from the “Kicker,” Julian Brandt (22, photo) can leave Bayer 04 Leverkusen via an exit clause in the summer of 2019. Last April the player signed a contract extension until 2021, however this included the exit clause.

According to reports from “Kicker,” Brandt also had a clause for the summer of 2018 for, “twelve million plus performance-related surcharges.” A bargain for the German international, who at that time already had a market value of 35 million euros. Apparently, the new fee is “now more than 100 percent higher.” According to this information, Brandt could therefore leave the club for around 25 to 30 million euros.

Whether he wants to leave, likely depends on the team’s performance. Brandt recently told the “Sportbuzzer”:  “Since I know exactly what I want for the future and feel comfortable here, why should I leave?” Under new coach Peter Bosz, his performance has increased again – in six Bundesliga games he was directly involved in seven goals. Leverkusen, where he has been contracted since January 2014, considers itself, “a perfect spot” for young players. He turns 23 on May 2.
