Akshat Singh warmed the hearts of hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly with his incredible dancing set on Saturday’s Britain’s Got Talent, and was subsequently sent straight to the semi-finals via the Golden Buzzer.

But the show has come under fire as it’s revealed the 13-year-old has already garnered recognition after previously appearing on shows such as Ellen and India’s Got Talent.

Viewers took to Twitter in their droves as they claimed the dancing sensation has ‘robbed’ fellow contestants of a place in the semi-finals amid the emergence of his past TV fame.

Akshat rose to prominence when he competed on India’s edition of the competition series in 2014, three years after a hilarious clip of the star went viral.

During his time on IGT, which saw the contestant reach the last stages of the series, he entertained audiences at The Ellen Show as he delivered an energetic routine.

2014 proved to be a busy year for Akshat as he also starred in India’s Strictly Come Dancing, before performing on Australian talent show Little Big Shots in 2017.

Despite his worldwide status, Akshat’s BGT audition marked the first time he displayed his fancy footwork in the UK.

After discovering his past fame, viewers slammed the show for taking on contestants with previous experience on TV.

One angered fan wrote on Twitter: ‘ok so akshat singhs already been on indias got talen and ellen dancing… feel like someone else has just been robbed of a golden buzzer #bgt.’

Another penned: ‘This this kid has been on India’s got talent, danced on India’s version of Strictly, he has gone viral, danced on the Ellen Degeneres show and been in Bollywood movies. May as well have professionals go on the show #bgt.’

A third added: ‘what is going on with bgt this year? I get the kid dancer had a good message but he’s already famous, and the moves were not even gold buzzer worthy! that last act or the old lady comedian was more deserving #bgt #BritainsGotTalent #goldenbuzzer.’

‘So this kid has been on India’s got talent, the Ellen show and little big shots. Is there any original content/auditions tonight #bgt #britainsgotnotalent’, another viewer tweeted.

However, other viewers shared their delight over the hosting duo’s Golden Buzzer choice, as one gushed: ‘Akshat what a lovely kid and a fantastic personality with a great skill to perform and make people smile really like this lad and think he’s got a a lot of talent well done to him #BGT.’

A third agreed: ‘We all need an Akshat in our lives. For someone to have that mentality and positivity in life is brilliant these days. Dance your heart out kid, and enjoy EVERY moment of it.#BGT.’

A BGT spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘Anyone can apply for Britain’s Got Talent whether they are professional or amateur, irrespective of their past experience, and all contestants are auditioned on merit.’

Akshat opened his performance on Saturday by declaring his two mottos in life to the judges, as he said they were: ‘To make everyone happy and make sure they know that nothing is impossible in life.’

The teen certainly proved that to be true, as he broke into a menagerie of moves, which started off with a Bollywood-inspired routine.

He then moved into more modern dance as he performed to Starships by Nicki Minaj, which saw him drop into a split and declare that kids shouldn’t be underestimated and that ‘fat people can dance’.

Admitting that he was ‘not expecting that’, Simon Cowell gushed that Akshat was going to inspire ‘lots of kids’ watching the show, and praised him for making ‘everyone happy’

David Walliams then said: ‘I wish I was 13 and watching you on stage because you would have made me feel like I could do anything.’
