The French forward was strongly linked with a move to Barca but eventually announced he was committing himself to Atletico in a documentary entitled ‘The Decision’, signing a new deal until 2023.
His decision left Barca supporters furious and they were quick to make their animosity towards him known on Saturday night, jeering Griezmann throughout the game.

Barca fans could clearly be heard shouting ‘Griezmann, b******, get out of the Nou Camp’ while they also whistled his every touch of the ball.
Two late goals from Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi condemned his side to a 2-0 defeat following strike partner Diego Costa’s red card.
Costa was dismissed in the 28th minute for squaring up to the referee, leaving his team-mates to face an uphill battle at the home of the league leaders.
They held out until the 84th minute when Suarez broke the deadlock, moments before Messi made sure of a win which sent Barca 11 points clear of Atletico at the top of LaLiga.
Recent reports in Spain suggest Griezmann feels he made a mistake in committing his future to Atletico after they exited the Champions League at the last-16 stage and are once again struggling to keep pace with Barca in the title race.

Winning European’s elite competition is a target for Griezmann who, at 28, is fearful he may never win the tournament at a team whose conservative approach in the transfer market has seen them fall narrowly short on the biggest stage.
Diego Simeone’s side are also on the verge of break up, with Lucas Hernandez already moving to Bayern Munich in the summer while the futures of Diego Godin, Filipe Luis, Saul Niguez and Diego Costa are also uncertain.
Griezmann though would have to take a pay cut to seal a move to Barcelona, who are ready to offer him a £14m (€16m) per year deal – a drop from the £20m (€23m) he is currently on at the Wanda Metropolitano.
Barca also appear poised to trigger his release clause of £100m in the summer, as they weigh up replacements for the injury prone and ageing Suarez.
Suarez, who has scored 23 goals this term despite his knee problems, has previously admitted that Barca’s search for a replacement as ‘normal’.
