BEN CHILWELL STATS FOR SEASON
Chilwell has seen his minutes gradually improve year-on-year at the King Power and after making 24 top-flight appearances last season under Claude Puel, the England international is now first choice ahead of title winner Christian Fuchs.
His excellent form for his club has seen him move into the international picture and he played an important part in helping England reach the semi-finals of the Nations League.
He is competing for a starting berth with Danny Rose, and he was selected ahead of the Tottenham player for England’s win over the Czech Republic, which was reportedly watched by scouts from both Barcelona and Atletico.
Atletico are known to be in the market for a new left back having lost World Cup winner Lucas Hernandez to Bayern Munich in a £68m deal, which was announced last week.

Diego Simeone will be eager to reinvest that sum in a long-term replacement for the ageing Filipe Luis, as the former Chelsea full back is 33 years old.
Barcelona meanwhile would like to provide competition for Spanish international Jordi Alba on the left side of their backline.
Manchester City are known to be interested in the youngster following Benjamin Mendy’s injury struggles.
Brendan Rodgers is aware that he faces an uphill task to keep Chilwell at the club, but he is determined to keep hold of him.

The Northern Irishman said earlier this month: ‘I’m just in the door and I can see he’s a huge talent.
‘I tried to take him to Liverpool when I was there, so I know how good he is! He wasn’t in the first team.
‘He’s a wonderful young player, he’s still got a lot to learn in his game, he’s a really good boy. I’m pretty relaxed about it.
‘He really enjoys being here, we’ll see how it pans, but he’s certainly one we don’t want to lose. We’ll assess it as we go along.’
