Nigerian forward Taiwo Awoniyi has been celebrating his inclusion in the Belgian Team-of-The-Week for the fifth week in a row, Completesports.com reports.
Awoniyi has been in fantastic form since linking up with Royal Excel Mouscron from English Premier League club Liverpool in January.
He scored the winning goal for Mouscron in the 1-0 victory against Lokeren in a Belgian League last Saturday.
The strike took his tally to five in six starts for the club. He has also made two assists as well.
The former Nigeria youth international spent the first half of the season on loan at another Belgian club RKC Gent but struggled to make an impact at the club.
“Stay true to your journey,
God never fail.i
5th week in a row #God is the greatest #,” Awoniyi said via a Tweeted on his Twitter handle.
According to Belgian website, Voetbalkrant, the former Nigeria U-17, U-20 and U-23 forward was paired in a 3-4-3 formation alongside Yohan Boli who bagged a hat-trick for St. Truiden in their 3-1 win over Sporting Charleroi last Saturday and Zulte Waregem’s Hamdi Harbaoui in attack.
Club Brugges’ Ethan Horvath was named in goal while the trio of Dylan Bronn, Casper De Norre and Dino Arslanagic were the defenders.
Yannick Bolasie, Yari Verschaeren, Abou Koita and Alexander Sorloth made up the four man midfield.
